Hi Beautiful People,
I hope you enjoyed the Easter holidays with your loved ones, I have had a one week’s holiday. Honestly, it was refreshing and I am ready to take on the world haha :).
Ok, before I start can I ‘’scream’’ or should I ‘’write’’ out loud ‘’Disclaimer’’ I am not a blog expert or professional neither do I have a strategy on how to make money through blogging, although people do make good money from blogging which I am yet to explore. So, I hope I haven’t put you off this post, but trust me I do have some tips from experience that may resonate with you and give reasons why owning a blog is not a bad idea after all.
I started my blogging journey in 2014, and guess what my website was designed by my loving husband who was a friend back then ‘’wink’’ ‘’wink’’ laughing out loud. Blogging has given me the opportunity to pour out my heart, head and feelings within me. This has been an ongoing process as I have grown into sharing things that I could not share in 2014. Please, don’t be under pressure to share anything that you’re not comfortable sharing on your blog, sharing personal things comes with time and I am still growing in that process.
Blogging frees my mind and gives me the ability to express my own person, I am that person with a thousand and one things on her mind, from lessons learnt to mistakes made. By sharing I believe that it will help one person, for me it’s not about the crowd, it’s about that one person it impacts. So, my question to you is are you someone with little or lots of life experience and is willing to share to make an impact? If you are looking for an outlet, I will suggest that blogging can help.
When I started this blog, I had no plan or strategy I just knew I wanted to blog, it was the in-thing back then before Ticktock and Instagram. What I did not realize was after one blog post then what’s next, I had no concrete plan on what to post next, how to market, generate an income from blogging or other benefits a blog can offer. There were times I won’t blog for months or a year and I would want to give up the blog. However, today one thing I am thankful for is that I started this blog and never gave up regardless.
Personally, I honestly enjoy writing these posts, it relaxes my nerves and it’s a form of therapy for me. Looking back now, I have posted quite a number of articles and when I look through the contents am like, hmm very interesting because it is still relevant today. Blog posts are so powerful because you never know who will come in contact with a word of encouragement all because you shared a story that resonated with them. Trust your story, your experiences, your mistakes it all happened for a reason, and generations can learn from it also.
I decided to split this post into three parts so you don’t have too much information staring at you. In part two, I will share more details on how I overcame my fears and the benefits of blogging. While in part three, I will share steps to take and resources that can help you kick start your own free Blogspot or a paid-for Blog website.
I hope you picked a point or two from this post that gets you thinking and encourages you to do further research and decide if blogging is a thing for you.
xoxo,
