Hey everyone, yap been a while. But am so excited to be writing on something I have experienced. Yea they say experience is the best teacher, but I’ll advise if you haven’t yet got that experience then it’s way better to learn from others experiences as this prevents you from so much heartache, trust me on that one dear.

If I am right we all feel some sort of emotions and I have heard lots of people say I can’t control how I feel. Well, I have said that to my self, let me share with you some emotions I have experienced and if you’re with me on this just nod your head. I have felt anxiety, depression, anger, fear, moody and sometimes hopelessness.

Wow, these emotions have a strong way of controlling your life, that you feel so worthless. But I am glad to say that I am on the journey to freedom from these emotions. You may be thinking yea right here she goes, but yes I mean I am in control of these emotions and at least I can now identify them when arising. Don’t get me wrong emotions are normal but how you handle these emotions will determine how you live freely and succeed in life. And trust me I am not perfectly in control of them yet but I can say I am striving hard to nip it on the head.

I will share some tips on how to control these emotions and I believe as you practice them consistently, as we all know being consistent is the key to freedom and believing that you can do all things through Christ you strengthens you.  Some tips were taken from the book The power of a praying woman (Stormie Omartian) but I have modified it based on my own experiences.

1. Admit these emotions can be dangerous to you and your relationship

2. Take time to identify the root cause to these emotions.e.g what triggered it, what environment does it get triggered, when did these negative emotions start.

3. You can speak to a Counsellor/Pastor

4. Read the bible and books on people that had similar negative vibes what they did

5 Refuse to adhere and be ruled by these emotions

6 Refuse to be down and dissatisfied

7. Refuse to be envious of others and think your the only on with the problem

8 Refuse to be depressed, hopeless and bitter.

9. Set your mind on positives, listen to uplifting songs, praise and worship

10. Believe that you have control of these emotions and you refuse to be controlled by common emotions

I strongly believe that if you maintain these few tips, it will help with your emotions. Studying books that relate to emotions, and seeking to be counselled or finding what works for you best can help. But the key is to never give up even if these emotions come and you fall for them. Dust your shoulders off and pick up again.

xoxo
