Hi Beautiful People,

The weekend goes so fast, it will be nice to have Monday added to the weekend. I am up for it if the government approves it. Anyway, I hope you had a relaxed and productive weekend?

For some time now, I have observed the value and purpose of spending quiet time alone. Quiet time for me is when I am either journaling, reflecting, or studying and meditating on the word of God. Over time, I have come to realize that in those moments I receive deep answers to personal questions I have. Sometimes, these questions may come from a place of doubt or I need direction and instructions regarding things I want to do. I also receive corrections on things I should change or focus on, and this can vary from my character, projects, relationships, motherhood or as a wife.

When I review my notes from what I journaled from my quiet time, I realize that I have written so much, and I often think to myself that these notes are deep because I could not have had these thoughts if I did not step out of the noise and distraction around me. Honestly, I cannot do justice by explaining in words what I experience when I am in my quiet space, but I can guarantee you that it’s been a blessing to decisions I have made and still making. There is so much power when you take the time out to dwell in the word and space of God. No wonder the bible says in Jeremiah 33 vs 3 ”Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come”.

I decided to share my quiet time experience because someone may benefit from it, especially if they are drowning in so many questions and don’t know who to turn to. My experience did not just happen in one day, it even took time for me to realize the benefit of a personal relationship and quiet time with God. Before now, studying my bible was a ticking exercise for me so that I did not feel guilty and if anyone asked at least I studied my bible. However, I am grateful for the little beginnings, neither did I know that those days were building me up to search deeper for more of God’s word.

The more you consistently grow in your personal relationship with God, things will gradually become clearer. You may ask, do I have days where I don’t have my quiet times? Yes, I get distracted and busy with daily chores, but I am working on being more consistent. I have realized that to be effective and gain direction in life, one needs to spend quality time with the one who made them. One needs to understand God’s manual which is His word.

I urge you, if you have an opportunity to spend time with God, please do not take it for granted. Your quiet time with God should never be underestimated, your daily instructions are hidden in His word Joshua 1 vs 8 says ‘’ Study this book of Instruction continually, meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it, only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Wow, there’s so much to unpack in that scripture, it proves the power of quiet time with the word of God.

I have consistently observed is that the word of God gives life and direction. I get His direction when I am still, learning, writing and listening in His presence and in His presence, I feel love, comfort, correction, direction, hope, faith, healing, mercy, strength and much more. I once heard a preacher say, ask God about what He wants you to do each day before you set off to begin your day. If I can receive from His presence daily before jumping to act on my day, I believe I will make more purpose driven decisions. And even when I feel fear, I will be fearless because I know I can stand on the word of God and His mercies are new every morning.

I hope that with the little I have shared, it will give you a form of clarity and understanding of the benefits of quiet time, journaling, reflecting and a personal relationship with God. As you decide to draw nearer to God, He will draw nearer to you, James 4 vs 8. I encourage you to come on this journey with me, as we grow to be consistent in His presence.

xoxo,

bbb empower.
